and for those of you who might have a doubt…here is what we have tried:
16 different bottles
1 sippy cup
facing out
on the boppy
facing in
on her back
on her side
while walking
while bouncing
inside
outside
on the floor
in her car seat
in her vibrating seat
wile being read to
half asleep
totally awake
formula (2 kinds)
just water
warm milk
cold milk
10 different people
and my favorite:
half way through feeding her I try and slip the bottle in. She stops, looks at me and screams. Then when I go to feed her again she checks with her tongue first to make sure that it’s really me before she latches on.
sigh
You did your best… so what’s the verdict on work… do I really need to ask? How are you feeling about all of this.. besides FRUSTRATED!??? Is there some relief in not really having to make the decision.. Fiona kind of made it for you….
well, Jason is making a decision for me right now too… that he MUST get up IMMEDIATELY. Man I can’t wait to get these three bull headed babies together… good times!!!
Just give her the tit!!! She will only be this young once! Some go from the tit to the sippy cup when they are almost a year old. You can do it! When she is in Junior High you’ll wish you had your baby back! They grow up so fast – I remember being told this and thinking, “yeah yeah” but now both of mine will be in Junior High next year with Ty going to High school the year after. Sad.
Sounds like “Green Eggs and Ham” will be her favorite book then. To paraphrase the great Dr. Seuss:
I could not, would not, on a boat.
I will not, will not, with a goat.
I will not bottle in the rain.
I will not bottle on a train.
Not in the dark! Not in a tree!
Not in a car! You let me be!
I do not like it in a box.
I do not like it with a fox.
I will not bottle in a house.
I do not like it with a mouse.
I do not like it here or there.
I do not like it ANYWHERE!
