It seems like every time I write I first mention how I haven’t written in a LONG time and need to catch up….well…here I am again. It’s been a A LONG time and I haven’t written and I need to catch up…..So…first-
Mother’s Day #2. We had a great day. Every year my sister-in-law and brother have a huge brunch with tons of fabulous food and all of our family and all of her family get together and spend the morning eating and talking and playing outside if the weather is nice enough. This year there was an extra added treat because Uncle Alan’s fire station just bought a new firetruck so he brought it by the house to show it off to everyone. Fiona loved it and really wanted to push all the buttons in the cab….maybe next time. I of course…have no pictures of the event to post here so just use your imaginations =).
For mother’s day this year Greg bought me the perfect gift. A new bike! Here’s a picture of it off the web site.
It’s a Novara (of course) Big-Buzz and it’s meant for commuting. I LOVE it! I really wanted to get a new bike to use for commuting because my ride to work is sort of a crappy one. I spend 3/4 of my time on bike paths and side streets but the last quarter is on beat-up, torn-apart, large truck heavy industrial roads. For those of you familiar with the area I ride down airport way….which is like a long wind tunnel with huge holes…then i turn onto lovely Spokane street which is riddled with old and new railroad tracks….cracks….holes….trucks and busses. My road bike felt like it was just going to fold in half somedays if I didn’t hit a crack just right…but this bike is heavier….aluminum fork…and upright….much for comfortable with a big old pack of work/clothes/food on your back. NiceĀ work daddy!
I think there should be photos of Fi in the fire truck in your Mom’s camera. I know I took some from the side looking up into the open door of the cab, and some others from the front through the windshield that probably didn’t turn out OK.
