You can probably guess my position .... Get the Shot - but the decision has to be yours. Whether you decide to, or not to - there are potential risks either way. Keep in mind there are risks in everything, so the question is really how great is the risk?

My real comment: PLEASE use good ole soap and warm water, and save the use of the hand sanitizers when you don't have access to soap and water. The widespread and common daily use of hand sanitizers is going to be surfacing as one of the factors in future pandemics ... my opinion of course!

Well, you know me. I'm just going to be one of those pregnant women in the high risk category who works around sick people and is having a winter baby who DOESN'T get the shot. I wouldn't be me if I stated otherwise, now would I? (And, as you can imagine, Malcolm hasn't had any immunizations yet either. Maybe when he's older and out of the normal autism window--his dad has a lot of Asperger's-esque tendencies, so we just didn't want to risk it with our boy. But good luck with the vaccine!

If I wasn't pregnant - I wouldn't get it. I did already get the regular flu shot - and have since I was pregnant with Fi - I'd never gotten it before though - and I've had Fi get her flu shots so far too. I don't think I'm going to have Fi get the H1N1 shot, especially since she isn't in daycare or school and her exposure is pretty minimal. We're using lot's of hand sanitizer at home these days =) and I started Fi on a immune booster vitamin and Vitamin D from the NP through the winter. Our NP had a good suggestion of gargling in the morning and at night with saline or Listerine type mouthwash to try and kill any virus that might just be sitting in there waiting to gestate. And Greg is buying a mask for the plane rides. Right at this moment I'm leaning towards getting the shot....it's beginning to feel more risky to not get it....but I'm not 100% there yet =) i'll keep you posted!

God.. that's tough especially w/ the travel thing. I don't plan to get the N1H1 or get it for the kids b/c it's so new. Well i don't need to tell you why.. you've done the research. Pregnancy and an internationally traveling husband certainly put a spin on it. I got the flu shot when pregnant b/c they told me I needed it and it was right there. I'm glad you are doing all the research before you are 'just standing there' and it's right there. :) I'm thinking I wouldn't, but it's such a personal decision. I agree that it would be good to have information as to lifestyle and health of these (and how many) pregnant women that died and/or had emergency C sections b/c of the flu......

Good luck. It's such a tough call. You getting it for Fi?

How many times you eat during a normal ... every day life?
are you the type of person who eats a bit and often?
or rarely and too much?

i usually have 3 and i'm the 2nd type of person (though it's not that healthy)

8 am breakfast

3pm lunch

9pm a snack.
